Dirty Denver's Shameful Pride "Pridefest" is not loving, accepting, tolerant or natural +Curtis Kekoa III July 22, 2005
Denver, CO - Sunday, June 26, 2005, proved to be a day in which 20+ years of indoctrination by the government schools and pop-culture concerning homosexuality was completely eradicated within two hours. How? I went to Denver's annual homosexual "pride" parade, and by God, I wish I hadn't. This was my first at witnessing firsthand the "pride" of the homo-community without the filter of the media. There's not much else I can do now except realize - fully - that homosexuals and their underworld resemble nothing close to human decency, respect or love.
I attended this disgusting display of diversity, acceptance and tolerance as one representing Jesus Christ to find the homosexual community anything but loving, accepting and tolerant. Everything was in "full swing" (no pun intended) when I arrived including drag queens blazing and men with men complete with lisps and acts of effeminate flamboyance which would make all normal folk blush. No wonder I was extremely uncomfortable upon immediately arriving at the parade - long before the "tolerant, accepting and loving" identified me as a Christian. After that, they turned into vipers.
Actually, they were already vipers.
Colfax Street turned into hell during the homosexual display of pride. Usually, Colfax Street is the area in which unsavory characters tend to collect. One supposes Colfax, then, is the most suitable area for a homosexual parade, if there ever were any suitable areas. All other parades, such as the Christmas Parade of Lights or the Saint Patrick's Day Parade, course through downtown. But in this homo "pride" parade - the one which flowed down the sleazy part of Denver - the Saints were doused with water and harassed. These Christians - approximately fifteen or so - bravely and peacefully picketed the event and passed out pamphlets.
These Christians were sparsely scattered throughout the crowd. This was risky, but Christ was with them and protected them. Besides, there's not much fifteen or so Christians can do if thousands of homosexuals decide to mob. According to the Denver Post, there were about 180,000 people in attendance. I believe this number was grossly exaggerated, however, intended to mislead about the amount of homosexuals in the city and their supporters. Although there were thousands on-hand (again, no pun intended), there certainly weren't 180,000 - not even by half. One Saint observed, "They're dying off." Death is a promise for sin.
All in all, Denver's homosexual "pridefest" was exactly that - prideful. Pride destroys one's ability to have a relationship God, and this was all too apparent at this parade. "For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God, or give thanks; but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools [...] Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, that their bodies might be dishonored among them. For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie [...] For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward on another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper" (Romans 1:21-28).
Let us pray that God deliver homosexuals from their depravity. As one Saint prayed at the end of the parade with tears in her eyes, "God, please soften their hearts."
