June 30, 2005, 08:48 AM

A Reno high school teacher accused of having an improper relationship with a student
has resigned.

That's according to a report in Thursday's Reno Gazette Journal.

Christopher Stirrup was one of two teachers at Wooster High School who was under
investigation for alleged inappropriate conduct with a student.

Steve Mulvenon with the Washoe County School District said they received Stirrup's
resignation Wednesday.

School police were looking into claims that Stirrup had an improper relationship with
an 18-year-old student. No criminal charges were ever filed in that case.
