Top Stories HS teacher and coach arrested on sex charges By Maurice Boyer 06/16/2005 An Avon Grove High School teacher and athletic coach has been charged with corrupting a student. According to the State Police, Iszel Glover, 29, of London Grove Township, is accused of having a sexual relationship with an underage female student at Avon Grove High School, where Glover is an English teacher, girls' track and field coach and assistant boys' basketball coach. He was arraigned on four counts of corruption of a minor before District Justice Thomas Martin Jr. of Avondale on June 14. State Police reports allege that Glover engaged in a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student from March to May of this year. According to police, the events were alleged to have taken place at Glover's residence on Hilltop Road, which he shares with boys' track and field coach Josh Gellner, who teaches chemistry at the high school. Both are 1994 graduates of Avon Grove High School. Avon Grove School District Superintendent Augustus Massaro confirmed that Glover was put on suspension from Avon Grove High School in mid-May after he became aware of the allegations. He emphasized that the charges were just allegations at this point and that the District would allow due process to go forth. Massaro said that the school district is cooperating fully with the police in the investigation. Massaro declined further comment at the advice of District Solicitor Andrew Rau. Phone calls to Glover's residence could not be returned by presstime. http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?BRD=2243&dept_id=451163&newsid=14701680&P AG=461&rfi=9 |
