RENO Reno teacher indicted on child pornography counts Jun 20, 2005, 10:38 AM A veteran Reno school teacher has been indicted on suspicion of having a dozen photos of nude boys in his home. 55-year-old Michael MacDonald remains on administrative leave without pay from Pine Middle School after being indicted on 12 counts of possession of child pornography. MacDonald surrendered to authorities on Thursday, a day after he was indicted by a Washoe County grand jury. He's accused of possessing nude photos of young boys he acquired from a foreign Internet site. According to police, they were among nearly four-thousand pictures of nude men scattered in his home office. MacDonald lawyer Lew Carnahan denies the allegations and says he's confident his client will be fully vindicated. In December, MacDonald was ordered to take down a Nazi flag in his classroom after a complaint by the Jewish Defense League. Jewish leaders later dropped the protest after they learned the flag was used as part of a lesson on the horrors of Adolph Hitler. http://www.krnv.com/Global/story.asp?S=3495798&nav=8faObDxz |
