ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- A student at Northern Virginia Community College says a man
tried to rape her Wednesday night in a bathroom.

According to campus police, it happened at about 6 p.m. in the Tyler Building of the
Alexandria campus.

In an e-mail to NOVA employees, campus police said the victim was grabbed from
behind and pushed into a men's room on the second floor. As the attacker was trying
to take her clothes off, the woman managed to break free.

Police and the victim searched the campus but couldn't find the man.

NOVA police did not immediately return a phone call. Alexandria police said the
campus force is handling the investigation.
