School Principal Accused Of Pulling
Gun On Teacher

A principal did not show up for the first day of school today, because he is accused of
pulling a gun on a teacher on Saturday.

Principal Ronald Major and some teachers were at the Applied Technology School in
Miami preparing for the first day of classes.

The teacher said that while near an elevator in the main lobby of the school, Major
pointed a gun at him and said, "This is what I do to people who give me a hard time."

According to the police report, the teacher put his hands in the air and backed up
several steps as Major put the gun back in his waistband. The teacher told police that
he was in fear for his life.

Police said Major was carrying a loaded .38-caliber five-shot chrome Rossi revolver.

Major admitted to Local 10 News that he did bring a gun on campus, but he gave a
different explanation as to why.

"For the safety of myself coming early in the morning and late afternoon. That's why I
had the gun," Major said.

According to the school board, Major has been reassigned to a regional office while
the incident is investigated.

Major does have a concealed weapon permit, but he is charged with possessing a
firearm on schools grounds and aggravated assault with a firearm.
