nbc4.com Prince George's County School Board Receives Audit Audit Of Technology Contracts Involving Hornsby Completed POSTED: 4:38 pm EDT June 3, 2005 WASHINGTON -- On Friday, the Prince George's County, Md., school board received a copy of an audit of technology contracts involving former schools chief Dr. Andre Hornsby. The school board is expected to make the results of the audit public soon, along with any response from Hornsby. He abruptly resigned his post last week. The FBI is investigating Hornsby's approval of a $1 million contract with a software company that employed his girlfriend as a sales representative. Hornsby denies any wrongdoing. The school system in Prince George's County is facing several other problems, as well. The county must finish work on a new high school in Upper Marlboro that is projected to be $13 million over budget. And the schools must trim $40 million from its requested budget for the coming year.
