August 3, 2005 Girl's Parents Sue Teacher Accused of Molesting Her, School The parents of a seven-year-old Indianapolis-area girl are suing a former first-grade teacher accused of molesting her as well as school officials for negligence in hiring him. Jeffrey Baber, 40, is scheduled for trial October third in Marion Superior Court on four counts of child molesting. In a lawsuit filed last month in the same court, the girl's family accuses Beech Grove schools superintendent and several top administrators of negligence for hiring Baber and allowing him to work at Hornet Park Elementary for ten years. The family is seeking unspecified damages. Baber is accused of inappropriately touching the girl more than once.
