Former substitute teacher gets jail for
lewd acts at schools
Associated Press

LOS ANGELES - A former special needs substitute teacher will spend 270 days in jail
for committing lewd acts on school property, authorities said.

A judge on Monday also ordered Richard Wayne Allen, 43, to pay $1,200 in fines,
register as a sex offender and stay at least 500 yards away from schools. Allen
worked in the Los Angeles Unified School District.

Female students at Fremont High School told authorities that on two days last
August, a man beckoned them to his car, where they witnessed him masturbating.
Allen was arrested after he was caught engaging in the same conduct by an
undercover female police officer.

A jury convicted Allen in July.
