Immediate Action Needed:

Please call your Congressman TODAY and ask them to support Congressman
Ron Paul's amendment to the H.R. 3010.

The Congressional Switchboard is: 202-224-3121

BACKGROUND:

Congressmen Ron Paul (TX-14), Tom Feeney (FL-24), Roscoe Bartlett
(MD-6) are offering an amendment to H.R. 3010, the  Labor, HHS, and
Education Appropriations Act of 2006--this afternoon.

This amendment will prohibit any funds in H.R. 3010 to be used to
create or implement any universal mental health screening program.

Last year, Congress passed the Consolidated Appropriation Act, H.R.
4818, which provided $20 million in funding for state grants in order
to change their current mental health care system. HSLDA and other
pro-liberty groups are concerned that states will use these grants to
implement some form of mandatory, comprehensive mental health
screening.

Ron Paul's amendment to H.R. 3010 would alleviate concerns over such a
system. However, YOUR CALLS ARE NEEDED IMMEDIATELY because special
interest groups within the psychiatric community are opposed to this
amendment and its protections in support of parental rights.
