TEMPE, Ariz. Arizona State today released a report from an internal investigation of a
fatal shooting involving former A-S-U football player Loren Wade.

The report concludes that no one could have suspected Wade would shoot someone. It
also finds no university or state Board of Regents policies were violated.

However, the panel that conducted the investigation recommends that some of those
policies need to be clarified. That, to better advise faculty and staff how to handle
complaints of violent student behavior off campus.

The committee said errors in judgement were made by football coach Dirk Koetter
(KUHT'-ur) and former athletic director Gene Smith in how they handled allegations of
improper conduct by Wade.

Wade is charged with first-degree murder in the March shooting of former A-S-U
football player Brandon Falkner outside a Scottsdale nightclub. Wade is scheduled to
go on trial in January.
