Family Weighs Options In Abortion T-Shirt Incident Chandlers To Meet With Lawyers POSTED: 6:05 am CDT May 3, 2005 UPDATED: 6:17 am CDT May 3, 2005 DES MOINES, Iowa -- The family of two students who were told to cover or remove their anti-abortion T-shirts are thinking about suing Roosevelt High School. The Chandler family takes issue the school dress code and with how the school's vice principals acted, NewsChannel 8 reported. Last week, two sisters were told to cover up or remove their "Abortion Kills" T-shirts. The school's principal, Anita Micich, later said the girls can wear the T-shirts any time. The Chandlers are weighing their options, which includes possibly suing the school for violating the girls' First Amendment rights. The family and their lawyers plan to meet later this week. http://www.theiowachannel.com/education/4442444/detail.html |
