DuhMag.com Note:  After his last response, James also sent me an email about "Being a
Person Under Authority" (Not shown; it was a forwarded email.) immediately subsequent to his
last reply.  I then replied the following, "Is this for me?"  James then responded with two more
emails before I could reply.  This series of emails is as follows:

Is this [Being a Person Under Authority] for me?  "The fact that an authority may not be a
Christian may have no bearing on whether God can work through him as your authority. It is
only when that authority counsels against a biblical mandate that we should not follow that
person's guidance."

Sorry for the confusion.  I was thinking more in the line of how you react to our political
leaders.  Will you point the finger at them and claim "they did it," denying any responsibility for
not attempting to help them (much like many have claimed anti-Semitism "the Jews are the
reason Christ was killed").  Or will you accept responsibility that it was all our sins which
Christ died for.  We might share in our political sin because we do not work to unite the
American people under God's word, teaching them right from wrong.  And as the church comes
back to power, then we can lay ethical legislation before our leaders.  Our job is spreading
God's word and trust in Him, it's God's job to work all things together for good.

One convicting help may be to study the crusades.  Look at history from 100 A.D to 1300 A.D.
Look what happened when the church (full of man and their opinions and desires) united with
government.  The sin which resulted was even greater than what we have today.  Those
Christian leaders distorted God's word to accomplish their worldly desires.  Your ideas of
government by theocracy has been tried, and we found man could not resist the temptations
which came with it.  When I studied this I found the tremendous wisdom of Christ saying "give
to Caesar what is Caesar's" (and no I don't believe he only meant taxes).  Always remember
what we learned in our hermeneutics class "CONTEXT."  When you try to understand scripture,
make sure you evaluate it from the whole.

Subject: Flood of info...

Curtis,

Not to attempt to overwhelm you with info, but it seems God always provides the info I need at
just the right time.

I was reading an article from "Whistleblower" magazine and found the following clip:

"To turn America around - to take it back - we first need to be sure of ourselves, our beliefs, our
principles, our purpose in life, our convictions - and we must always know that God is on His
throne.  He is in control of the universe.  He empowers those who do His will, follow His laws,
live for Him, honor Him.

Once you're comfortable in that role, then it's time to take back your churches.

That's right.  You heard me.  I said, "Take Back the Churches."  That is a prerequisite to
Taking America Back.  There's a dirty little secret that most Americans don't know.  The
churches once wielded great influence in America.  It wasn't that long ago.  And it wasn't just
in the offices of government that the church had clout.  The church set the tone for the culture,
too."

I would agree with this author.  As we preach God's word and reflect his image, we (the church)
can influence the world.  As we (the church) actively participate in government roles, we can
reveal a Christlike example to those around us.  And most importantly, as we reflect Christ to
all those around us we can set the tone for the culture.  It is all rooted in preaching Christ (as
opposed to preaching "Bad Bush").  We are called to be a light to others.  With and in this
wisdom comes great power.

I also read a lesson last night which might help as it discusses "entering God's peace."  Anger
and resentment (not fruits of the Spirit) will leave our lives as we trust in God's sovereignty.
There are many, many passages from scripture I can share if you're interested on studying this
topic.
